HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Jul, 2025) The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA), assisted by the district administration and the police, razed 2 dangerous buildings in Heerabad area of City taluka here on Saturday after evacuating the residents who resisted the demolition.
An official spokesman informed that one of the structures was a multi-storey building which happened to be in a very unstable condition.
According to him, that structure was inhabited by at least 60 residents.
The action has been initiated after the authorities marked 72 buildings in the district as dangerous after the tragic collapse of a building in Lyari, Karachi, which claimed 27 lives.
The SBCA's officers reiterated that such dangerous buildings had to be knocked down in order to prevent similar tragedies and to ensure public safety.
The citizens had been urged to report to the authorities about such buildings and also to facilitate the government in the demolition exercises.
