SC Allows PTI’s Yar Muhammad Rind To Contest Elections

Appellate tribunal had disqualified him for involvement in 12 cases of different nature
Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 5th July, 2018) The Supreme Court has allowed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind to contest elections.
The appellate tribunal had disqualified PTI leader Rind and declared ineligible to contest general elections. The appellate tribunal rejected the Rind’s appeals on nomination papers and restricted him from contesting the 2018 elections for being involved in 12 cases of different nature.
The PTI leader had submitted nomination papers from NA-260 and PP-17.
Rind is considered as a senior leader of PTI and is PTI’s president for Balochistan. He is a known Baloch leader and has been offered ministries in different governments but he refused to accept them out of his principles and tradition.
He was elected as the chairman of District Council Kachhi in 1993. He was elected to the Senate in 1985, and the National Assembly in 1990, 1993 and 1997. He served as the Federal Minister for food, Agriculture and Livestock in 2002.
