ISLAMABAD, June 7 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 07th Jun, 2017 ) : The Supreme Court Wednesday restored Nawab Ali Wasaan of Pakistan Peoples Party as member of the National Assembly setting aside the decision of election tribunal to de-seat him.
Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan of the SC gave the verdict after hearing the petition filed by Nawab Ali Wasaan against the election tribunal's decision declaring his rival candidate Ghous Ali Shah of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) successful from NA-215 Khairpur, Sindh.
Ghous Ali Shah had challenged Wasaan's victory in the general election 2013 before the election tribunal citing irregularities and rigging committed by the latter. Nawab Wassan had got 91,809 votes and Ghous Ali Shah 66,481 votes.
