SCO Secretary General Calls On Qureshi

Secretary General of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Vladimir Norov called on Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on the sidelines of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers Meeting in Bishkek on Wednesday

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd May, 2019 ) :Secretary General of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Vladimir Norov called on Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on the sidelines of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers Meeting in Bishkek on Wednesday.

The SCO Secretary General welcomed Pakistan's membership as an important step that had enhanced the prestige of the organisation, a Foreign Office press release here said.

He expressed gratitude for Pakistan's active participation in various platforms under the SCO umbrella.

Vladimir Norov shared his vision for promoting cooperation among the SCO members in a wide array of sectors, ranging from intra-SCO trade to tourism, innovation and youth empowerment.

Qureshi congratulated the SCO Secretary General on assumption of office and also appreciated the Secretariat's important role in facilitating Pakistan in the process of integration in the organisation.

The foreign minister assured Pakistan's complete support to the Secretariat in achieving the goals and objectives set under various SCO initiatives.
