Security Plan Finalized For 9th, 10th Muharram In Sargodha

Strict and foolproof security arrangements have been finalized for maintaining peace during processions and Majalis on 9th and 10th Muharram-ul-Haram across the district.

The police official said Thursday that monitoring was being made on processions routes while special teams have also been deployed outside all Imambargahs and Masques to avoid any untoward situation and incident.
The official said that a comprehensive security plan has been formulated in collaboration with concerned law enforcement agencies and civil administration.
He said that total 248 Majalis were being held on 9th Muharram out of which 17 fall under category A, 11 in B and 220 in Category C.
He added that total 84 processions were also being held out of which 10 were considering in Category A, 7 in B and 67 in Category B.
All available resources were being utilized to keep the atmosphere smooth and peaceful, he added.
Under the security arrangements during 9th and 10th Muharram, all streets will be sealed on the route of Muharram processions, police personnel have been deployed at all routs while the Majalis and procession organizers also advised for deployment of volunteers.
A total 36 walk-through gates have been established at entrances and exit points and complete physical search of the participants was being ensured adding that 300 metal detector and monitoring was also being ensured with the 60 CCTV cameras.
A special divisional Command and Control cell has also established at the Regional Police Office while special traffic plan has also been announced by the administration where traffic officials were also deployed on the routs, he said.
More than 3500 police personals performing duties at sensitiveplaces while 28 inspectors and Sub-inspectors, 530 constables and 408 police volunteers have been deployed on the way of main procession.
