Senate Body For Telephone Facility At New Islamabad Airport To Facilitate Passengers

Senate Standing Committee on Aviation Wednesday expressed displeasure over the absence of telephone facility at new Islamabad airport.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Oct, 2018 ) :Senate Standing Committee on Aviation Wednesday expressed displeasure over the absence of telephone facility at new Islamabad airport.

The committee met here at the Parliament House under the chairmanship of Senator Mushahidullah Khan and attended by members of the committee including senators Sherry Rehman, Fida Muhammad Khan, Hasil Khan Bizenjo, Haji Momin Khan Afridi, Sadia Abbasi, Samina Saeed, Nighat Mirza and Gianchand.

The senior officials of the ministry of aviation briefed the committee regarding the provision of phone facility at new Islamabad airport.

The committee expressed displeasure on the briefing regarding the telephone facility at new Islamabad airport and recommended that the facility should be set up at the airport to facilitate passengers.

The committee also took serious notice of the problems due to software of tickets booking.

The committee also raised the issues of PIA employee's salaries and directed to immediately release salaries of the employees.

The senior official from Ministry of Aviation informed the committee that the department is facing loss of Rs2 billion in operational cost.

He further said due to new software ticket booking issue resurfaced. However, he informed the committee that the issue of ticket booking has been resolved.
