Senate body on IPC reviews issues related to PSB, PCB, NIP

Senate Standing Committee on Inter Provincial Coordination on Monday reviewed the issues related to Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and National Internship Programme (NIP) in a meeting held here at Parliament House.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Oct, 2018 ) :Senate Standing Committee on Inter Provincial Coordination on Monday reviewed the issues related to Pakistan Sports board (PSB), Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and National Internship Programme (NIP) in a meeting held here at Parliament House.

The meeting was chaired by Chairman of the committee Senator Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan Nasar.

Members of the committee including Senators Mushahidullah Khan, Faisal Javed, Sardar Muhammad Azam Khan Musakhel and Abida Muhammad Azeem, Secretary Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination, and officials of PSB, PCB and NIP also attended the meeting.

Chairman of the committee said that Pakistan performance in Asian Games and Asia Cup was not satisfactory. He said that there is no lack of talent in Pakistan but steps should be taken for the fitness and performance of the players.

He directed Pakistan Sports Board to formulate a vibrant policy for promotion of sports in the country.

Senator Faisal Javed said that some of the player's performance is outstanding in domestic cricket, adding that they should be included in the national squad.

Senator Mushahidullah said that Yasir Shah should be included in the one day cricket. He said that the football players are very talented in Balochistan province but there is no stadium.

Senator Sardar Muhammad Azam Khan Musakhel proposed that Pakistan Sports Board head office should be set up in Islamabad.

He also demanded that Zhob district in Balochistan should be given region status.

Earlier, the officials of IPC briefed the committee about the Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination and its attached departments including PSB, PCB and National Internship Programme.
