A Senate House Committee that met here on Tuesday discussed in details about issues pertaining to Senators who have not been allotted parliament lodges.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Sep, 2018 ) :A Senate House Committee that met here on Tuesday discussed in details about issues pertaining to Senators who have not been allotted parliament lodges.
Senate Deputy Chairman Saleem Mandviwala, who chaired the meeting said mandate of the Committee was to manage and take care of accommodations of Senators but previous committees could not deliver.
The meeting was attended by Senators including Kauda Babar, Mir Muhammad Yousaf Badini, Samina Saeed, Sardar Shafiq Tareen and Kalsoom Parveen, new Chairman of Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Managing Director of National Engineering Services Pakistan (NesPak).
The MD briefed the meeting about the project would cost Rs1.75 billion. The completion time of the project is about two years.
Saleem Mandviwala directed the CDA chairman to open some temporary shops at lodges until the project is completed as Senators have to go to markets far away for purchasing daily use items.
The CDA was also instructed to sort out issues with Contractor M/S Habib Rafiq (Pvt) Limited so that remaining work can be completed in time.
The issue of non-availability of ambulances at Parliament House and Parliament Lodges was also discussed. The Committee was informed that two ambulances were dedicated to deal with emergencies - one each at Parliament House Dispensary and Parliament Lodges.
The Committee members were informed that Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) has been abolished and availability of another ambulance would be decided after seeing distribution of relevant function. The matter would be decided in next meeting. The minutes of meetings of August 8 and September 5 were also confirmed on the occasion.
