LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Jan, 2018 ) :PML-N leaders and lawmakers on Monday said that Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) had no other priority than resolving problems of the people.
The lawmakers said that Punjab government constructed around seven thousand kilometres long carpeted roads in rural areas of the province which have starting yielding fruits by directly boosting farming sector.
Talking to APP MPA Qazi Adnan Farid that development projects worth billions of rupees were initiated by Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif in southern Punjab. He said that Punjab government initiated the programme of clean drinking water in southern Punjab and this vital project of public benefit has been launched in 37 tehsils of southern Punjab.
"This programme would be completed in south Punjab before March,2018",he added. MPA Rana Mehmood-ul Hasan said that Punjab Government spent more than Rs. 67 billion on road construction across the province.
To a question Rana Mehmood-ul said that Rs. 17 billion would be spent on the construction of rural roads in different areas of the province during the current financial year 2017-18.
Mehmood-ul Hasan said that speedy and transparent completion of development projects was the policy of Punjab government.
He further said Safe City Project(SCP) for Multan and Bahawalpur was a much needed project geared towards the welfare of people of southern Punjab. MPA Majid Zahoor said that Khadim-e-Punjab Rural Roads Programme(RRP) was a unique and innovative initiative which would help transform lifestyle of the rural population.
"Rural population has got better transport facilities after the construction of carpeted roads in their areas and this has also left positive impact on the rural economy," he added. Chairman Evacuee Trust Property board(ETPB) Siddiq-ul-Farooq said that Punjab government has brought revolution in the agriculture sector by adopting historic steps for the development of this sector and prosperity of farming community.
Farooq said development of public welfare-oriented projects in the southern Punjab was being monitored regularly by the Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He said that elements who were opposing public welfare initiatives were actually opposing development and prosperity of the common man.
