Sh Rasheed booked for violating fireworks ban during election campaign

The case has been registered for displaying fireworks in UC-40 of NA-60 and NA-62 in city police station.

Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 17th July, 2018) A case has been registered against Awami Muslim League (AML) leader Sheikh Rasheed for using fireworks during his election campaign.

The AML leader will contest from National Assembly Constituencies NA-60 and NA-62, Rawalpindi. Sheikh Rasheed has got complete support of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) which has not fielded its candidates against him.

Adopting a unique way in his election campaign, the AML leader is sometimes seen riding a bike whil sometimes he is having breakfast among supporters.

However, in a bad news for him, a case has been registered against Sh Rasheed for using fireworks.

According to police sources, the case has been registered for displaying fireworks in UC-40 of NA-60 and NA-62 in city police station.

Sh Rasheed is among the eight people nominated in the case. Sh Rasheed's nephew Sheikh Rashid Shafiq and 15 other unidentified persons are involved in the case. The case was registered under police officer Aftab Ahmed Yaqoob as per clause 285 and 286.

The FIR against Sh Rasheed said that the suspects have displayed fireworks in the Talwaran Bazaar while it was banned from the Punjab government.

Meanwhile, the AML leader has urged the voters to come out of their houses to cast vote on election day to bring change in the country. He has expressed hope that he would win the NA-60 and NA-62 seats with thumping majority.
