“The country breaks by attacks on economy, not by attacks on borders,” he said.
Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 20th April, 2019) Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed has expressed his resolve to placate Asad Umar and urge his to remain a part of the cabinet.
Sheikh Rasheed said that he will request Asad Umar to remain a part of the cabinet.
He said that Asad Umar resigned himself. Only one minister has been removed.
He further said that he sees Imran Khan completing his five-year tenure.
Speaking at a press conference, he said that the previous government spent money on roads and bridges according to a strategy.
“The country breaks by attacks on economy, not by attacks on borders,” he said.
He said that only one minister was removed while Asad Umar had resigned himself.
The minister added that Asad Umar worked really hard but Kaptaan’s (Imran Khan) decision is also right.
When Imran Khan came into power, there was no such thing as treasury, he added.
Former Finance Minister Asad Umar Thursday announced to quit his portfolio expressing firm commitment to continue working for materializing the dream of prosperous 'Naya Pakistan' under the leadership of Imran Khan.
He announced his resignation during a press conference, soon after his tweet on his social media account on the issue.
He said Prime Minister Imran Khan intended to make some reshuffle in the federal cabinet and the announcement for further changes was expected shortly.
He said amid reshuffle news, he met with the prime minister last evening and this morning, convinced him on his decision to step down from the cabinet, instead of taking any other portfolio.
He said stepping down from the membership of the cabinet did not mean leaving Imran Khan's vision for a developed and prosperous Pakistan, saying he was always available and would remain so in future.
