Shah Allah Dita's victims seek help of JI chief in getting back their money

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Oct, 2016 ) : The representatives of Community Committee of Land Victims of Shah Allah Dita, a rural area of Islamabad, Wednesday sought help of Ameer Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Siraj ul Haq in getting back their hundreds of millions of rupees.

They claimed the amount was taken from them on the pretext of development charges of land by the relatives of JI's local leadership involved in property business and being patronized by a JI leader.

Addressing a press conference here at National Press Club, Chairman Community Committee of Land Victims of Shah Allah Dita Chaudhry Sajid Iqbal said more than 1000 kanal of land was sold out to various people some 10 years ago.

But, he added, no progress as per commitment had been made there despite payment of development charges to the sellers. He said fake cases were registered against them at Golra Police Station in which they were acquitted by inquiry conducted by Superintendent of Police (Saddar) Islamabad.

He said another case of violation of Section 144 had been registered against them at Shalimar Police Station on October 18, 2016 for protesting outside the office of property mafia at Sector F-10 despite the expiry of notification on October 12, 2016 issued by the District Magistrate.

He hailed the role of high officials of police in the whole matter but complained about the JI leadership at District level for allegedly patronizing the land mafia. Chaudhry Sajid Iqbal said Khalid Mehmud Bhatti, Ibrar Khan and Javed Turabi were the big Names behind the embezzlement with the victims who not only purchased land but also paid development charges to them.

He appealed to the prime minister, interior minister and chairman National Accountibility Bureau to look into the matter and ensure development work in the area or return the development charges to the people.

Chaudhry Sajid Iqbal said he contested election at Member of Provincial Assembly's seat from Faisalabad on the JI ticket but he would call spade a spade without keeping party's affiliation in mind.

The families of the affected people along with children, women were also present on the occasion holding placards with demands to JI chief to intervene and ensure accountability of its some leaders at district level.
