Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi met his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers Meeting in Bishkek on Wednesday and took stock of the current state of the bilateral relationship between the two countries
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd May, 2019 ) :Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi met his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers Meeting in Bishkek on Wednesday and took stock of the current state of the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
They agreed that Prime Minister Imran Khan's participation in the 2nd Belt and Road Forum in Beijing had provided further impetus to the all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, a Foreign Office press release here said.
They also agreed that the upcoming visit of Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan to Pakistan would mark another milestone in the bilateral relationship.
Foreign Minister Qureshi thanked China for its support in Pakistan's smooth integration in the SCO.
Both the foreign ministers agreed to continue working together in the SCO to achieve its multifaceted goals and objectives.
They also discussed important issues impacting regional and global security and expressed satisfaction that both China and Pakistan had identical views.
They agreed that meaningful forward movement on the reconciliation process in Afghanistan was of paramount importance for overall peace and stability in the region and beyond.�The foreign ministers also agreed to continue close coordination to handle challenges emerging from the evolving security situation in the region and around the globe.
