Shah Mehmood Qureshi Likely To Be Given Foreign Ministry

Asad Umar will be the new Finance Minister while Pervez Khattak is likely to become Defence Minister: reports
Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 18th August, 2018) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) vice president Shah Mehmood Qureshi is likely to become the Foreign Minister in Imran Khan’s cabinet.
The final decision regarding Imran Khan’s cabinet has not been taken yet but according to media reports, Shah Mehmood Qureshi is expected to be given the Foreign Ministry while Asad Umar will be the new Finance Minister.
Moreover, Pervez Khattak is likely to be given Defence Ministry, media reports said.
Media sources further said that Imran Khan will keep the Interior Ministry to himself. He will appoint an adviser on Interior Affairs. Shoaib Suddle and Nasir Durrani are being considered for the posts of advisers. However, a final decision has not been taken yet.
The cabinet of newly appointed prime minister is likely to be formed in two days; following which, Imran Khan will start working to deliver on his promises.
PTI chairman Imran Khan has taken oath as the 22nd prime minister of Pakistan today.
The oath-taking ceremony was held in President House, Islamabad on Saturday. President Mamnoon Hussain administered oath to the newly elected prime minister.
The National Assembly on Friday elected Imran Khan as the country's 22nd prime minister. At least 176 members of the National Assembly voted in favour of the PTI chairman, while his opponent, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shehbaz Sharif, secured 96 votes.
