ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Apr, 2019 ) :Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Tuesday said all the so-called development projects launched by former Punjab chief minister Shehbaz Sharif were just 'publicity gimmicks'.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader used to do only cosmetic works for media hype, but as a matter of fact he had done nothing on ground for the sustainable development of the province, she said while talking to a private news channel.
Firdous said Shehbaz Sharif had left Punjab in total disarray. It was taking Chief Minister Usman Buzdar to cleanse his rubbish and streamline the system, she added.
She said Prime Minister Imran Khan had full confidence in Usman Buzdar.
Firdous said the National Action Plan (NAP) was finalized during the era of PML-N government to flush out terrorism from the country.
All the political parties had consensus over the NAP but unfortunately, it had not been implemented in its true spirit.
She said all the extremist and terrorist elements and their hideouts in the country had been abolished by the operation Zarb-e-Azb.
Fidous said Pakistan had a principled stand that no one would be allowed to use its soil for any subversive activity in any other country.
She said during the recent visit to Iran, the prime minister had discussed about intelligence sharing with the Iranian government.
To another question, she said the prime minister's statement regarding Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had been distorted.
As regards the Kashmir issue, she said Pakistan stood by the Kashmiris and was fully determined in resolving the longstanding dispute through dialogue.
