Sibi Harnai Railway Track Renovation Would Boost Balchistan's Economy Said DG NLC

Director General National Logistic Cell (NLC) Major General Asim Iqbal on Friday said renovation of Harnai Sibi railway section would promote agriculture and business sectors, coal mining industry, provide good employment opportunities to the youth in Harnai and boost Balochistan's economy.
QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Sep, 2018 ) :Director General National Logistic Cell (NLC) Major General Asim Iqbal on Friday said renovation of Harnai Sibi railway section would promote agriculture and business sectors, coal mining industry, provide good employment opportunities to the youth in Harnai and boost Balochistan's economy.
Director General National Logistic Cell (NLC) Major General Asim Iqbal expressed these views while inspecting the recuperation work of Harnai Sibi Railway section at Tahandory and Harnai, which is expected to be completed by next month in October. Project Director Brigadier Umer Farooqi. Project Manager Colonel Umar Farooq and Divisional Engineer Railway Abrar Sheikh were also present on this occasion.
Briefing the DG NLC, the Project Director said that the 133 km long railway line has been renewed in the short span of two years.
Around 98 percent renovation work has been completed including construction of 15 big railway bridges, and railway track protection wall, he added.
On this occasion, the DG NLC said that completion of this project would help to repair the shattered infrastructure and renew communication between Harnai and Sibi masses.
He said the Sibi Harnai railway station was destroyed in 2006 as a consequence of a terroristblast and was closed for the past 12 years. Although the law and order situation in the province was not favorable, the NLC experts have been busy in renovation of this railway section in extreme weathers, since two years, he added.
