Sindh Govt To Distribute 50 Thousand Solar Panels In August: Nasir Shah

Provincial Minister for Energy Development and Planning Sindh Syed Nasir Hussain Shah on Friday said that all possible steps are being taken to distribute 50 thousand solar home panels to the people in the month of August and hoped that this work will be completed soon
KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Aug, 2024) Provincial Minister for Energy Development and Planning Sindh Syed Nasir Hussain Shah on Friday said that all possible steps are being taken to distribute 50 thousand solar home panels to the people in the month of August and hoped that this work will be completed soon.
Nasir Hussain Shah said that in the manifesto of the People's Party, people were promised to provide them free electricity up to 300 units.
The project of providing free electricity up to 300 units has been completed to a large extent and according to the election manifesto and promise of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, this project will be completed as soon as possible.
The Energy Minister said the electricity bills are very high. As per the direction and vision of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto, Sindh government wants to give relief to the people. The project of providing free and cheap electricity to the people is a link in this chain,he said and added that there is no shortage of alternative energy sources in Sindh province.
He said President Asif Ali Zardari also wants to promote the use of solar and provide free and affordable electricity to the people by using alternative energy sources.
Shah said the process of rationalization is going on rapidly and the works on various projects are being completed rapidly.
Energy Minister further said that solar parks are going to be built in different districts of the province and the electricity generated from them will be provided by NTDC.
He said Sindh is the first province in the country where Sepra has been established on the pattern of Nepra and STDC has also been formed which will provide cheap electricity tariffs and it will provide cheap electricity to both industries.
