Sindh Minister Assures Release Of Grants For Development Schemes

Sindh Minister for Works and Services Nasir Hussain Shah has assured that government would release grants for completion of all such development schemes of Hyderabad division which were running at slow pace due to paucity of funds.
Presiding over a meeting here at Shahbaz Hall on Thursday which reviewed the pace of work on development schemes, the minister directed for completion of all development schemes at fast pace so that their benefits could be delivered to masses at the earliest.
He directed all deputy commissioners of the division that in future, they should propose such development schemes on priority which could provide direct benefits to the people. The deputy commissioners should submit request for grant of special maintenance and rehabilitation of all such type of schemes so required grants could be released to them for early completion, he added.
The minister asked the officers of works and services department to ensure implementation of the rules and regulations for completion of all development schemes in transparent manner. No compromise should be made on quality of the development schemes, he said and directed the completion of all roads with asphalt concrete process.
The minister also directed the deputy commissioners to ensure removal of encroachments and illegal possession of forest lands. On such directives, the Commissioner Hyderabad Muhammad Abbas Baloch requested that the provincial forest department should provide details of encroached and grabbed land of forest so that the same could be got vacated.
The minister also directed the deputy commissioners of the division to form district peace committees in their respective districts having participation of religious leaders from all sects.
The deputy commissioners also gave presentation of the development progress in their respective districts while the Project Director Asian Development Bank Prem Chand briefed the minister about the road schemes of Hyderabad divisions and the future plans in this regard.
Besides Commissioner and Deputy Commissioners, the meeting was also attended by DIG Hyderabad Naeem Ahmed Shaikh and Deputy Director Planning and Development Muatsam Abbasi.
