Sindh Minister Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani, Wife Found Dead In Karachi

Sindh’s Minister for Planning & Development Mir Hazar Khan Bijrani and his wife Fareeha Razzaq were found dead at their residence in Karachi Thursday.
KARACHI,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 01st Feb, 2018) : Sindh’s Minister for Planning & Development Mir Hazar Khan Bijrani and his wife Fareeha Razzaq were found dead at their residence in Karachi Thursday. The bodies were found from their house located in Defence area of Karachi.
Bodies were spotted by the house servants. According to sources, the senior PPP minister committed suicide allegedly after killing his wife. PPP leader Nasir Hussain Shah said the preliminary investigation shows that both were shot in the head.
He said there was no sign of stress on Bijrani’s face when he attended the cabinet meeting Wednesday. "He (Hazar Bijrani) was not that person who would commit suicide," Shah said Facts would be unearthed only after the investigation and exemplary punishment will be given if any person found involved in this incident, he warned.
Politicians and prominent personalities expressed deep shock and grief over the incident: Police said PPP’s lawmaker and his wife Fareeha Razzaq were present at their house when their death took place overnight. Several party leaders and senior government officials including Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and family members arrived at the house after the incident. Bijarani was born on 10 July 1946 in Karampur, Sindh.
He was elected as member of the Sindh Assembly from PS-16 constituency as a PPP candidate after the 2013 general election. He had done BA from National Collage in Karachi and MA in Political Science.
He was a professional lawyer and had completed his LLB from Sindh Muslim Law College. He was a professional lawyer and did LLB from Sindh Muslim Law College. He began his political career after he was elected to the Provincial Assembly of Sindh in 1974.
He was re-elected to the Provincial Assembly of Sindh in 1977 general election. He was elected to the Senate of Pakistan in 1988. He was elected to the National Assembly from NA-157 (Jacobabad) for the first time in 1990 elections.
He was re-elected as MNA from NA-157 (Jacobabad) as PPP candidate in 1997 general elections. He was re-elected from NA-209 (Jacobabad) as a candidate of PPP in 2002 general elections. He became an MNA from Constituency NA-209 in 2008. As PPP candidate, Bijarani was currently an MPA in Sindh after he won PS-16 in 2013. Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has offered his condolences on the death of Bijrani.
He expressed his deep shock on the death of Bijrani and his wife. “Deeply shocked to learn about the murder of veteran PPP politician Mir Hazar Khan Bijrani & his wife! May Allah rest their souls in eternal peace & give patience to the bereaved family & friends,” said CM Punjab on social media site Twitter. Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, the daughter of PPP chairman Asif Ali Zardari, said that she was ‘shocked and horrified’ by the tragic news of the murder of Bijrani. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Sindh President Arif Alvi also expressed his condolences.

Met him on Monday last & Fariha came over for lunch to my house on Saturday,” he said. PPP MNA Nafisa Shah said: “Heartbreaking news has just been reported …This is a big tragedy for the family and the PPP both.
My thoughts and prayers are with their families, constituents and our PPP family.”
