Sindh Solid Waste Management Board Starts Rainwater Drainage In City Karachi

Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) Managing Director (MD) A.D. Sajnani on Monday said the board has started drainage of rainwater in different parts of the metropolis
He said that to provide relief to the masses, different teams have been formed with an imposition of Rain Emergency, according to a statement issued here.
He said the teams would work round-the-clock and additional machinery would be provided where necessary for drainage of rainwater.
A.D Sajnani said that rainwater drainage work was already underway on University Road, Rashid Minhas Road, Alamgir Road, Gulistan-e-Jauhar block 15, 16, Shabbir Ahmed Usmani Road, Gulshan Iqbal block 7, Nursery, Kashmir Road, Allama Iqbal Road, Sir Syed Road, Metropolitan Road, surroundings of Press Club, Teen Talwar, Clifton, Kharadar, Orangi Zone, Baldia and Malir.
The SSWMB chief said that all the staff has been put on high alert and DMC chairmen and other civic agencies concerned are being coordinated.
