Sindhi Films Festival Concludes At Sindh University

The four-day Sindhi Films Festival concluded on Friday at the Institute of Sindhology University of Sindh Jamshoro.

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Oct, 2018 ) :The four-day Sindhi Films Festival concluded on Friday at the Institute of Sindhology University of Sindh Jamshoro.

The Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Fateh Muhammad Burfat was the chief guest while noted intellectuals Shoukat Shoro, Nasir Mirza, film director Ghulam Hyder Siddiqui and others were the guests of honor of the ceremony.

The Vice Chancellor while congratulating all involved and especially the institute squad led by Director Dr. Ishaq Samejo said that shortly the university will start department of film studies at the campus.

Paying rich tribute to the excellence and accomplishments of film director Ghulam Hyder Siddiqui, Dr. Burfat announced establishment of corner in his name at the gallery of prominent personalities in the institute museum.

The Director Institute of Sindhology Dr. Ishaq Samejo, in his welcome views, observed that he saw a potential prospect for Sindhi film industry to re-flourish, despite the odds it currently encountered.

Scholar Shoukat Hussain Shoro maintained that the festival had kindled a flame of hope in the hearts of those film-fans who had lost almost all expectations for Sindhi movies to re-rock.

On the occasion, souvenir shields in recognition of meritorious services in their respective fields were awarded to Ghulam Hyder Siddiqui, Shoukat Hussain Shoro, Shah Asad, Kamran Bhatti, Mazhar Hussain, Sajjad Yusif, Deeba Kanwal, Yasir Qazi and others.

Electrified mega musical show with popular vocalists Sajjad Yusif, Mazhar Hussain and Deeba kanwal struck the formal closure of the magnificent festival.
