SMEDA To Make Effective Plan For Rapid Promotion Of Coal Sector

The General Manager Small Medium Enterprise Development Authority (SMEDA) Javed Khatak has said that the SMEDA has decided to make effective plan for rapid promotion of coal sector of Sindh and Balochistan through consultation with all stakeholders.
HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Sep, 2018 ) :The General Manager Small Medium Enterprise Development Authority (SMEDA) Javed Khatak has said that the SMEDA has decided to make effective plan for rapid promotion of coal sector of Sindh and Balochistan through consultation with all stakeholders.
Addressing an awareness seminar here at the secretariat of Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Tuesday, he assured that the suggestion and recommendations to be received through consultation with the stakeholders would be implemented so that hurdles could be removed which involved in delaying the promotion of coal sector of the country.
He said that the country possessed rich mineral resources and there is the need of its effective utilization in order to strengthen the economy of the country. The country had precious quality of marble in 27 colours which ever found in any country of the world while the priceless gemstone of Peshawar and Gilgit could also be utilized for improvement in the economy of the country, he added.
The President HCCI Muhammad Shahid in his remarks informed that the HCCI was playing key role for promotion of small medium enterprises and the industrialists of Hyderabad have made investments in the projects which initiated by SMEDA for SME development.
He said that development of coal sector in Sindh would not only helpful for coal power projects but it will also provide job opportunities to jobless youth of the province, he said and underlined the need of addressing the issues of the business community which associated with coalmining.
Riaz Sehto of Planning Commission of Pakistan said that the Federal government fully committee for rapid development of mineral sector and making efforts to invite national and international investors in this sector.
The Chairman Sindh Lakhra Coalmines Committee Abdul Samad Raeesani said that utilization of mineral resources could play key role for improvement in the economy of the country. The coal sector is not only providing the job opportunities but also contributing it due share for the economy of the country, he said and called upon the government to address the genuine demands of the business community which is engaged in this sector.
Among others, Provincial Chief SMEDA Sindh Mukesh Kumar and members HCCI Executive Committee Adnan Khan, Abdul Sattar Khan, Aslam Khan Deswali, Zia Masroor Jaferi Mehmood Iqbal Jaferi and former Vice President Ziauddin also attended the seminar.
