HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Jan, 2019 ) :The Soyem of late Farhat Shaikh, senior journalist and reporter of Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), was held at a mosque near her residence here on Friday.

The Fateha and Quran Khuwani were offered at Siddiqu Akbar mosque where the people from the deceased journalist's family, political leaders and representatives of the civil society and business community attended.

Prominent among them included Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf's (PTI) Jamshed Ali Shaikh, Pakistan Peoples Party's (PPP) Aftab Khanzada and Ahsan Abro, Pak Sarzameen Party's Rizwan Gaddi, Jamaat-e-Islami's Abdul Waheed Qureshi and Tahir Majeed, Regional Director of Press Information Department Hyderabad Moula Bux Solangi, former Press Secretary of Chief Minister Sindh Imdad Keerio and Hyderabad cricket Association's President Shakeel Qureshi, among others.

Shaikh passed away on Thursday at the age of 56 years. She remained admitted in the hospital for almost 3 weeks during her treatment of chronic lungs ailment.
