Sports Events Held At MNSUA

In connection with celebrations of 15th years of HEC International Day of University Sports, a ceremony was held at Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture

MULTAN, Sept 20 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Sep, 2017 ) : In connection with celebrations of 15th years of HEC International Day of University Sports, a ceremony was held at Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture.

Vice Chancellor MNSUA, Prof. Dr. Asif Ali presided over the ceremony, whereas Maj (R) Tariq Mahmood was the chief guest. A football match between male students, handball match between female students and a cricket match between Admin staff and faculty members were played.

In his welcome address, Director Sports, M.Arqam Iqbal informed the participants about the current sports events organized by the Sports Office and its future plans. He appreciated the efforts of the Vice Chancellor for thriving sports activities among the students of the University.

He further said that today's event had been organized on the directions of the Higher education Commission to inculcate in students the significance of participation in sports activities.

He disbursed trophies and shields to the winners of sports gala 2016-17 and Independence Day sports.

Later, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Asif Ali delivered a lecture on the importance of sports and announced a plan for annual sports at the University. Qaisar Javed, Sports Coach said he was grateful for support of the Vice Chancellor to the Sports Office.

Dean Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Prof. Dr. Irfan Baig, Director External Linkages Prof. Dr. Shafqat Saeed, Senior Tutor Usman Jamshed, Member Sports Saima Rasheed and a number of students were also present on the occasion.
