Sports Events To Be Held On Regular Basis For Policemen; Says Inspector General Of Police Sultan Azam Temuri

Islamabad police would arrange sports events on regular basis for its personnel because such activities not only promotes environment of competition but also inculcate the spirit to counter tough situation.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Mar, 2018 ) :Islamabad police would arrange sports events on regular basis for its personnel because such activities not only promotes environment of competition but also inculcate the spirit to counter tough situation.

It was stated by Inspector General of Police Sultan Azam Temuri on Monday here at the concluding ceremony of the Islamabad Police Olympics Sport event at Police Line Headquarters. DIG (Security) Waqar Ahmed Chohan, DIG (Headquarters Nasir Mehmud Satti, AIGs, SSPs, players of police were also present on the occasion.

The other sport activities in the event included football, Marathon race volleyball, tug of war, body building, wrestling, Kabadi and cricket.

The IGP said that sports activities are important for a healthy society and it promotes environment of competition and inculcate the spirit to counter tough situation.

He said that policemen feel exhausted from long duties and such event will help to entertain them and provide them opportunity to demonstrate their sports skills. He said that such events provide opportunity to policemen to keep themselves physically and mentally fit.

Such event would be arranged on annual basis to promote healthy activities in the force, he added. The IGP also lauded the efforts of Sports Officer Sub-Inspector Muhammad Ayub Awan and Assistant Support Officer ASI Muhammad Tahir for their efforts in making this even successful.
