Streamlining PIA's Affairs Is Collective Responsibility: Muzaffar

KARACHI, Jan 5 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 05th Jan, 2017 ) : Streamlining the affairs of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is the collective responsibility of all of us. This was stated by the Convener of the Sub-Committee of the Senate, Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah, while talking to media persons at the PIA Head Office here on Thursday.
He said that it is the collective responsibility of all to streamline the affairs of the national flag carrier and that no administration or the present government cannot be held responsible for the prevailing situation in the PIA.
Muzaffar was of the view that the PIA very much needs professionalism. He said that the present government was determined for the revival and rehabilitation of the national flag carrier. Senator General (Retd) Abdul Qayyum and Senator Farhatullah Babar were also present on the occasion.
Muzaffar said that "we held meetings separately with the PIA's administration, employees' union and that of the retired staffers besides meeting the current and former chairmen of the Civil Aviation Authority and also visited various departments of the national flag carrier".
He said that a detailed report based on review of the situation as well as recommendations would be submitted to the Senate Special Committee.. Senator General (Retd) Abdul Qayyum said that the present democratic government is determined for the complete rehabilitation and revival of the PIA.
He was of the view that with effective measures, PIA can be made one of the best airlines. Qayyum said that there was a need to streamline the administrative and fiscal affairs of the organization at every level.
