Stringent Security Measures Taken For Peace, Religious Harmony During Muharram

The police have evolved a robust security plan to maintain peace and religious harmony in the month of Muharramul Haram especially Youm-e-Ashur in the district which is among the most sensitive areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Sep, 2018 ) :The police have evolved a robust security plan to maintain peace and religious harmony in the month of Muharramul Haram especially Youm-e-Ashur in the district which is among the most sensitive areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
District Police Officer(DPO) Zahoor Babar Afridi said stringent security measures had been made and the district had been divided into ten sectors with strong coordination among concerned departments to observe the occasion with great sanctity and religious zeal in peaceful atmosphere.
He said that no one would be allowed to go rooftop of shops, houses or balconies on the day of Youm-e-Ashur when processions would pass on designated routes.
He said a total of 226 programmes had been planned during Muharram and police was fully geared up to maintain peace and avoid any untoward incident.
Besides sealing arms dealers' shops and gas refilling outlets in the city, the DPO said section 144 had been imposed, disallowing pillion riding, exhibition of arms, gatherings and hate speeches etc to ensure religious harmony and peace during the holy month especially on 9th and 10th of Muharram.
The provincial government had also imposed ban on vacations and transfers of police personnel from first to 10th of Muharram, adding additional force could also called in, from the Federal or provincial governments.
He said the police was fully committed to protecting lives and property of citizens, adding strict action would be taken against those elements who took law into his own hands and spoil peace in the district.
He also urged the residents to cooperate with law enforcement personnel and inform in case of any dubious elements were found intheir areas.
