While talking to passengers on their views on Railways services improving day by day, a passenger and a resident of Rawalpindi, Muhammad Hayat Malik said it was good decision on part of the present government.
Earlier passengers had stopped using trains but improvement in facilities had helped changed their minds and now they prefer travelling through Railways, he said.
Another passenger, Saiqa Jabeen said passengers now prefer to travel by train because of appreciably low fares as compared with private transport.
Belonging to Karachi a student studying in National University of Modern Languages (NUML) Saad Mustafa said discounting fares for students would help them visit their homes in the winter season.
After many years, he had seen sparkling trains with efficient staff at the Railway stations and last of all the punctuality of trains which was a major issue for passengers in the past.
A senior official of Pakistan Railways said the continuous efforts of Pakistan Railways Minister had played a vital role in achieving the targets.
He said Railways had improved its quality and timings through continuous efforts focusing on passenger-friendly policies.
