Sub-committee Constituted To Inquire Question Of Privilege Raised By Rana Afzal

ISLAMABAD, Jan 3 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 03rd Jan, 2017 ) : National Assembly's Standing Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privileges on Tuesday constituted a four-member committee to further inquire the question of privilege raised by MNA Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan keeing in view of facts and unsatisfactory reply given by Punjab government.
The sub committee under the convenership of Muhammad Raza Hayat Harraj, MNA will further inquire into the issue as contained in the Question of Privilege. The committee which met under chairmanship of Junaid Anwar Chaudhary MNA at Parliament House discussed Question of Privilege raised by Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan regarding allegedly launching of malicious campaign in media by Noor-ul-Ameen Mengal, Ex-DCO Faisalabad, against the Member.
The committee heard the points of view of both complainant and respondent. The Committee directed the District Collector, Faisalabad to inquire into the issue of leakage of baseless information from the DC office to the media against the MNA, fix responsibility against the person found responsible and submit report within 15 days.
The committee while discussing the Question of Privilege raised by Azhar Qayyum Nahra, MNA, against Babar Walah, former Assistant Director (Land), Nowshehra Virkan, District Gujranwala, expressed displeasure on the delayed compliance of its earlier directions by the authorities.
The committee directed the Commissioner Gujranwala to submit copies of transfer orders of the said Assistant Director (Land) along with his communication with the Chief Secretary Punjab in this regard.
The meeting was attended by MNAs; Chaudhry Khadim Hussain, Chaudhry Mahmood Bashir Virk, Rana Umer Nazir Khan, Najaf Abbas Sial, Azhar Qayyum Nahra, Abdul Majeed Khan, Sheikh Muhammad Akram, Mumtaz Ahmad Tarar, Ms.
Kiran Haider, Ms. Maiza Hameed, Nawab Muhammad Yousuf Talpur, Mohammad Ayaz Soomro, Ms. Shagufta Jumani, Muhammad Ali Rashid, Ms. Asiya Nasir and officers from ministry of parliamentary affairs, inter provincial coordination, establishment division, FIA, representative from government of Punjab and other concerned departments.
