Supreme Court Accepts Malik Riaz’s Apology In Contempt Case

A hearing on contempt of court case against Malik Riaz was held in the apex court on Thursday.
Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 21st February, 2019) The Supreme Court on Thursday accepted unconditional apology of Bahria Town Chairman Malik Riaz in 2012 contempt case.
A hearing on contempt of court case against Malik Riaz was held in the apex court on Thursday.
Malik Riaz submitted a written apology to the court.
Accepting the apology, the court withdrew the notice against Malik Riaz.
During the hearing, Malik Riaz said he takes back his allegations against all the people, including Arsalan Iftikhar.
He said he neither wants to defend his allegations nor does he want any action against those people.
Upon this, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Asif Saeed Khosa said that Arsalan Iftikhar has already withdrawn his case.
The court then accepted his unconditional apology.
Addressing a press conference in 2012, the Bahria Town chairman had said that Arsalan Iftikhar,the son of former chief justice Chaudhry Muhammad Iftikhar, is the 'don' who runs the judiciary.
