Supreme Court Adjourns Hearing Of Case Over Allotment Of MDA Land To Bahria Town Till Wednesday

The Supreme Court on Tuesday adjourned hearing of the case over allotment of precious Malir Development Authority (MDA) land to Bahria Town till Wednesday.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Feb, 2018 ) :The Supreme Court on Tuesday adjourned hearing of the case over allotment of precious Malir Development Authority (MDA) land to Bahria Town till Wednesday.
The court directed the counsel of Sindh board of Revenue to complete his arguments by Wednesday and remarked that the court would review the matter according to law. A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan heard the suo moto notice case.
During the course of proceedings, the court asked Farooq H Naek, the counsel for Sindh Board of Revenue that the court had sought comprehensive report regarding transfer or possession of MDA land and whether they had submitted the report on which the counsel replied that the comprehensive report had been submitted in the court and he would argue the same facts.
He informed that the court had taken notice of the subject matter on October 5, 2011 when a complainant namely Mahmood Akhtar Naqvi submitted an application in the Supreme Court regarding the change of land ownership from Gadaap Town to Bahria Town.
The counsel said that according to the facts that the laws on the basis of which lands had been transferred, had also been submitted in the court. He said that the case was more about transfer of lands than revenue and the lands had been transferred according to the rates of price committee.
He also said that the high ups of MDA had clarified that according to the laws MDA had different authorities including the authority to sell, transfer or lease of any part of land and they had acted according to the laws. The court directed the counsel to complete his arguments till Wednesday and adjourned hearing of the case.
