Supreme Court Forms Committee On United Christian Hospital

The Supreme Court (SC) bench here on Monday formed a five-member committee to submit recommendations for the restoration of United Christian Hospital (UCH).
A two-member bench, headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar, heared a suo motu case regarding restoration of UCH at the Lahore registry.
During the hearing, the CJP expressed dissatisfaction over the condition of UCH and directed the Parks and Horticulture Authority to check cleanliness arrangements at the hospital.
He said that there were four operation theaters in the hospital out of which only one was operational.
He ordered the committee, headed by Dr Jawad Sajid Khan, to submit its recommendations till December 3.
"We have got restored electricity in the hospital," the CJP said and added, "We have to restore UCH within six weeks and I will visit the hospital for my medical check-up."
