Supreme Court rejects NAB plea seeking cancellation of bail of former ETO

Supreme Court (SC) has rejected the petition filed by NAB seeking cancellation of bail of an accused in forgery case

ISLAMABAD (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd May, 2019) Supreme Court (SC) has rejected the petition filed by NAB seeking cancellation of bail of an accused in forgery case.NAB had filed petition for cancellation of bail in respect of former Excise and Taxation Officer (ETO) Quetta who was allegedly involved in forgery case.Ulfat Nasim former ETO was charged with doing registration of non custom paid vehicles through fake documents.The court while upholding the penalty of Rs 30000 against the accused ordered him to pay this amount within a month.

In case of default of payment of fine, the accused be awarded punishment of 6 months term in jail.The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) remarked during the course of hearing " it is 17 years old case.NAB Additional Prosecutor told the court Ulfat Nasim registered 5 vehicles without verification.

Documents of 5 files out of 258 files were fake.The CJP remarked care is must for the officers. We also care too while sitting here because irregularity cannot take place without involvement of registration officer.CJP remarked " there is unprecedented business of vehicles in Balochistan.

When operation was underway then a chit was given to vehicles to leave. Vehicles markets are operating openly. Vehicles are not left in the cities now.Kamran Murtaza counsel for accused argued the vehicles which were given by Nawaz Sharif during 90 decade have reached Balochistan too.

These vehicles are called "Nawazi vehicles in Balochistan because these were got by people during Nawaz Sharif regime.
