ISLAMABAD (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th April, 2019) Supreme Court (SC) has remarked lest Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) project should collapse with a big bang.A two members bench of SC presided over by Justice Gulzar Ahmad took up OLMT project case for hearing on Friday.The court while seeking guarantee worth Rs 10 million each from 3 construction companies remarked if the work is not completed till May 20 then guarantee will be confiscated.The court also directed that Justice (Retd) Jamshed or Justice Abdul Sattar Asghar should be appointed head of the technical committee.Justice Gulzar Ahmad while expressing annoyance with project director Fazal Haleem remarked the work has been delayed due to project director.
If contractor don't work then throw them out or put them in jail.
Project director is being blackmailed by construction companies. The three construction companies should give guarantees worth Rs one billion.
Guarantee will be confiscated if the work is not completed within stipulated time.Naeem Bokhari counsel for the construction companies said " we cannot give guarantee of Rs one billion. You please send my client to jail.Justice Gulzar Ahmad remarked if there is any mechanism for checking the quality of construction work on project or otherwise.
Lest the project should collapse with big bang.The SC while seeking guarantee of Rs 10 million each from construction companies adjourned the hearing of the case for two weeks.
