Supreme Court Seeks Details Of Funds Reserved For Disabled Persons In Last 5 Years

The Supreme Court on Thursday sought details of the funds reserved by the provincial governments for disabled persons in their budgets during the last five years.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Oct, 2018 ) :The Supreme Court on Thursday sought details of the funds reserved by the provincial governments for disabled persons in their budgets during the last five years.
A three-judge bench headed by Justice Azmat Saeed passed the directions while hearing a plea moved by disabled persons seeking directions to formulate a policy for the appointment of disabled people in government jobs.
During course of the proceedings, Inamuddin, a petitioner, pleaded the court to order all the provincial governments to draft a uniform policy for the disabled people, who wanted to do jobs instead of begging on roads.
Another petitioner informed the court that healthy people were often recruited on the quota for the disabled persons.
To this, Justice Azmat Saeed observed," WE are aware that even people with a bruised finger are given jobs on the quota for the disabled people."He remarked that the government could formulate a policy keeping in view available resources.
Subsequently, the bench seeking details of funds reserved for the betterment of disabled persons adjourned the case till November 26.
