Supreme Court Suspends Election Commission Of Pakistan Order For Re-poll In PB-21

The Supreme Court on Tuesday suspended Election Commission of Pakistan's order for re-polling in fourteen polling stations from the constituency PB-21 (Killa Abdullah-I) Balochistan.
A two-member bench, headed by acting Chief Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeeed, heard the appeal moved by the Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA), Zamark Khan Achakzai, Awami National Party.
Justice Saeed observed that court have to look into the matter whether ECP can pass such orders after passing 60 days of the notification or not.
He also observed that prima facie the order of the ECP was against the mandate given to it and the appeal stands maintainable for hearing.
Subsequently, while issuing notice to the respondents, the bench adjourned further hearing ofthe case till last week of the January 2019.
