ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Oct, 2018 ) :The Supreme Court has fixed to hear an appeal of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against challenging the IHC's decision of suspending the sentences awarded to the Sharif family members by an accountability court in the Avenfield property reference on Wednesday.
NAB on Monday filed the petition in the apex court against the the Islamabad High Court's (IHC) verdict granting bail to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and her husband Capt (retd) Muhammad Safdar.
The Bureau took the plea that the IHC did not properly examine the evidence in the case and requested the SC to declare its decision null and void.
The three convicts were released from jail in September after an IHC bench comprising Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb suspended their sentences. They were sentenced by an accountability court in July after being found guilty of corrupt practices related to the ownership of four luxury flats in central London.
