The Supreme Court on Thursday fixed the review petition, challenging the acquittal of Asia Bibi, a Christian woman, to hear on January 29
A three-member bench, headed by Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa and comprising Justice Qazi Faez Isa and Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel would hear the preliminary arguments on the maintainability of the review petition.
Qari Muhammad Saalam had filed a review petition in the Supreme Court through his counsel Ghulam Mustafa Chaudhry. Asia Bibi's conviction was overturned by Supreme Court on October 31.
Asia Bibi had filed the appeal in 2014 challenging her death sentence awarded bytrial court as well as by high court under section 295-C of the Pakistan Penal Code(PPC).
