Swat Motorway To Initiate Progress, Development: Minister

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Communication and Works, Akbar Ayub Khan has said that Swat Motorway is a flagship project that would usher areas of Malakand, Swat and other areas into new phase of progress besides promoting tourist industry in the province.
PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Sep, 2018 ) :Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Communication and Works, Akbar Ayub Khan has said that Swat Motorway is a flagship project that would usher areas of Malakand, Swat and other areas into new phase of progress besides promoting tourist industry in the province.
He expressed these views during a briefing on ongoing major projects, at his office here on Tuesday. Provincial Minister for Finance Taimur Salim Jhagra was also present in the meeting.
On the occasion, finance minister was briefed about the organogram of C & W Department, its business, manpower, legal frame work and mega developmental projects in sectors of roads, building and bridges.
Mega project of provincial government, Swat Motorway was specially discussed in the meeting.
Akbar Ayub highlighted important features of Swat Motorway and said that 81 km long motorway was being completed with a huge cost of 34 billion. The project would integrate Malakand, Swat and other districts with most parts of the country.
He revealed that addition of two lanes on outer sides of motorway has also been planned. He termed this project a game changer and said that it would play an important role to promote trade and tourism related activities in the region.
Development of districts having tourism potential was priority of Prime Minister that would support to tap the tourism related advantages of this province, he added. He assured every possible support for speedycompletion of the project.
