Task Forces Set Up In Provinces To Control Population Growth, Supreme Court Informed

The Supreme Court was informed on Thursday that task forces had been established in all the provinces to control the alarming population growth rate.
A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar, which heard a suo motu notice case of unchecked population growth in the country, was told by Additional Attorney General Nayyar Abbas Rizvi that the Council of Common Interests (CII) had approved a policy to control the population growth and the task forces were formed as per its instructions.
The AAG said a grand symposium would be organised in Islamabad on December 5 in that regard.
Subsequently, the bench directed the authorities concerned to run a countrywide campaign to raise awareness about the population control.
The case was adjourned till December 13.
