Tea Fake Labelling Attempt Foiled

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Aug, 2024) An attempt to carry out fake labelling of famous brands of tea was foiled in the provincial capital on Sunday.
According to official sources here, food safety teams under Punjab Food Minister Bilal Yaseen raided a unit in Township area and discarded 4,710-kg tea.
A case was got registered against unit owners on account of fake packaging and strict legal action was also ordered.
During the raid 3,710-kg packaged tea, 1,000-kg loose tea, fake labelling and 10 machines were seized.
Punjab Food Minister Bilal Yaseen said that loose tea was being packed in boxes and bags of different sizes.
He said that tax evaders and fraudsters were culprit of people and state. He said that special teams would be formed to break the network involved in transportation of fake essential items in market.
Bilal Yaseen said, "Mafia which plays with the health of people their data will be compiled."
