ISLAMABAD, Jan 4 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 04th Jan, 2017 ) : Indian Police, in occupied Kashmir, during a raid arrested Tehreek-e-Hurriyet (TeH) acting district president Kupwara, Farooq Ahmad But.

Accordin to Kashmir Media Service (KMS),the Muslim League District President Pulwama Abdul Rashid Dar Kulpori was also re-arrested soon after he was released from Kathua jail in Jammu on the directions of the High Court of the territory.

Farooq Ahmad Butt who played a key and pivotal role during recent people's uprising and peaceful rallies was arrested by Indian police during house raids in Kupwara.

Police also arrested the brother and ailing father of the leader and ransacked their properties," the THK spokesman said.

The TeH Chairman Syed Ali Gilani in a statement while strongly condemning the arrest of Farooq Ahmad Butt, said, "Instead of facing TeH leaders politically, authorities use the mighty police to suppress every voice raised against the Indian forcible control, which is not only condemnable but shameful as well." Meanwhile, Indian police rearrested senior Muslim League leader Abdul Rashid Dar Kulpori soon after he was released from Kathua jail on the High Court directions.
