Telecom Operators Empower Youth Through Summer Internship Programmes

The mobile phone companies have announced their Summer Internship Programmes to provide the best internship plan for a young lot of Pakistan.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Jun, 2018 ) :The mobile phone companies have announced their Summer Internship Programmes to provide the best internship plan for a young lot of Pakistan.
Operators - zong, Jazz, Ufone & Telenor keep on introducing different summer internship programs to pick the best talent from universities and keeping them busy in summers. In this way, students not only learn things but they also fulfill their degree requirement of six months compulsory internship.
As per details here on Monday, these summer internship programmes are for university students and graduates alike. Students can apply for these programmes, especially since exam season is almost over.
A China Mobile Pakistan (Zong 4g), in addition to usual internships - announced premium "Graduate Training Programme" that comes with specialized hiring with a proper salary.
Fresh graduates are hired as Graduate Trainee Officers through a rigorous assessment process. The GDP comprises an intensive advancement scheme of 18 months which includes classroom training, on-the-job training, coaching, mentoring and job rotation to different departments.
The eligibility criteria includes 26 years age at time of hiring. Fresh Graduates with following degrees are eligible to apply; BBA/MBA, Bachelors/Masters of Engineering (Telecom/Electrical/Electronics), Bachelors/Masters of Information Technology or equivalent.
Score/CGPA: Minimum 2.7 CGPA or 70% Marks required. Work Experience: not more than 01 year.
Telenor Pakistan also offers a six-week internship programme that starts from May to September every year.
During their time at working at the Company, all internees receive a stipend, with mobile credit and laptops.
Unlike Zong's programme, Telenor hires students before they graduate as well. Applicants should have completed at least six semesters of their bachelor's programme or two semesters from their Master's programme to be considered eligible for this programme.
Telenor has not officially announced the programme yet. However, one can apply for program.
Similarly, Ufone offers internships in major cities including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Multan, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Sargodha, Bahawalpur and many other cities of Pakistan. Specific details about cities can be found on Ufone website.
Jazz aims at providing the best internship plan for a young lot of Pakistan. Jazz usually carry on campus drives in different universities and personally recruit candidates by testing them.
The company believes in creating a fun and exciting workplace to drive creativity & innovation. One to one interview on campuses is the best way to recruit students as the first impression is always right.
However this time they have not started campus drives but one can apply via their website.
The internships introduced by operators is beneficial for both the company and students. Operators train students and later on hire many of them. Students, on the other hand, get full exposure of working environment and get a hand to handexperience of the practical world. All the three operators ofPakistan are offering Summer internship program to empower youth.
