Tentative heritage sites spoiled due to negligence of visitors

Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) Spokesperson Mukhtar Ahmad Wednesday said that Jahgir's tomb ,Makli Tomb and other tentative heritage sites listed by UNSCO damaged due to negligence of visitors

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Sep, 2018 ) :Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) Spokesperson Mukhtar Ahmad Wednesday said that Jahgir's tomb ,Makli Tomb and other tentative heritage sites listed by UNSCO damaged due to negligence of visitors.

Talking to APP, he said that ,the department of Archeology is the custodian of these sites ,however the department is under staffed and faces numerous other challenges in protecting the national heritage. In addition to these problems, encroachment also spoils this heritage, he added.

Pakistan is famous for its amazing world heritage sites which declared by United Nations, Educational, Scientific, Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

UNESCO is basically the organization that promotes different tentative sites for the education, scientific and cultural purposes.

The world tentative heritage sites of Pakistan includes , Badshahi Mosque, Wazir Khan |Mosque, Tomb Jehanigir , Hiran Minar, and Taxila, Rohtas Fort District Jhelum, Fort and Shalimar Garden Lahore, Historical Monuments at Makli,Deosa National Park,Ziarat Juniper Forest, salt Range and Khewra Salt Mine.

Archeological ruins of Badshahi Mosque stands among the ancient civilizations of the world.

Fort and Shalimar Gardens in Lahore is third world heritage site which are very famous tourists attraction of the city.

Both of the fort and park are spectacular sites which are well preserved and remain on extreme boom of beauty, he added.
