Terminal Tuck Shops 'fleecing' Travelers

Most of the tuck shops at the different private bus terminals, petrol pumps or filing stations in federal capital were allegedly fleecing travelers and commuters by charging exorbitant rates on most eatables and beverages
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Dec, 2018 ) :Most of the tuck shops at the different private bus terminals, petrol pumps or filing stations in Federal capital were allegedly fleecing travelers and commuters by charging exorbitant rates on most eatables and beverages.
Many of these tuck shops including at G-9 Bus Stand, Faizabad, Pir Wadhai and General Bus Stand Islamabad were selling different food beverages without the rate list that has not been provided by the authorities concerned yet.
A traveler standing at private bus terminal while expressing his concern said that complaints have been made by the citizens to the district administration, but there was no stringent action has been taken even as the practice continues unabated.
According to a complaint registered on Citizen Portal, a tuck shop at the Karachi Company Bus Stand found selling mobile cards at higher prices.
The tuck shop owner was selling mobile card of Rs100 for Rs110 and also charging Rs40 against Rs30 printed price on snack packet.
Another shopkeeper at private terminal in Faizabad selling regular beverages at higher rates but also selling poor quality juices.
ICT spokesman said, on receiving complaint district administration teams were carried out inspection of tuck shops, after issuing the warning legal actions were taken in this regard.
Many terminal managers were asked to prepare a rate list, which will be signed by the Deputy Commissioner on similar pattern of Motorway shops, which are signed by respective DC's, he said.
