Terrorism Incidents Decline As Compared To Previous Year

During current year the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province Saturday witnessed a sharp decline in the incidents of terrorism as compared to previous year 2017
PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Dec, 2018 ) :During current year the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province Saturday witnessed a sharp decline in the incidents of terrorism as compared to previous year 2017.
In current year incidents of terrorism are less than the previous year. During the current year, 34 incidents of terrorism took place as compared to 47 in the year 2017 said the spokesperson on Saturday.
Similarly 36 cases of extortion were reported during the current year as compared to 42 cases in the previous year. 28 cases of target killing occurred during the current year as compared to 29 cases in the previous year and five cases of kidnapping for ransom are reported during the current year while the previous year six cases were reported.
Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Salah-ud-Din Khan Mehsud has appreciated the excellent performance of CTD.
It may be recalled that the CTD exclusively handling the incidents of terrorism in the province.
It not only registers the cases but also investigates and apprehend the culprits. Presently, seven CTD Police Stations are functioning all over the province at all the regional headquarters.
It merits mention here that the CTD as front line force in the ongoing war against terrorism is performing very crucial role in eliminating terrorism.
It has dismantled many networks of the terrorist owing to its professional skill and knack.
It was due to sheer hard work and professional acumen of the CTD that people were seeing busy in carrying out their day to day activities in Bazars which was once a herculean task just to imagine about it before.
