Thunderstorm likely at isolated places

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23th August, 2016) : Thunderstorm is expected at isolated places of Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Mirpurkhas divisions and Kashmir in next 24 hours while hot and humid weather to grip other parts of the country.

Rain-Seasonal low lies over northwest Balochistan and adjoining areas. Monsoon low pressure area lies over east Rajasthan (India) and its adjoining areas. Due to this low pressure weak monsoon currents are penetrating eastern parts of the country, an official of met office told APP.

In last 24 hours weather remained hot and dry in most parts of the country. However, rain-thunderstorm occurred at isolated places of Gilgit-Baltistan. Rainfall recorded during this time span was GB: Gupis 03mm, Hunza 01mm and Gilgit 01mm. Maximum temperatures recorded on Monday were Turbat, Sibbi 43øC, Dalbandin 42øC, Hyderabad 40øC, Multan 39øC, Faisalabad 38øC, Peshawar 37øC, Muzaffarabad, Quetta, Islamabad, Lahore 36øC, Dir, Karachi 34øC, Chitral 33øC, Gilgit, Kalat 31øC, Hunza 27øC, Murree 25øC and Skardu 22øC.
