TIP Has Become White Elephant: Justice Gulzar Ahmad

Supreme Court (SC) has ordered that Telephone Industry of Pakistan (TIP) , government and employees should work out package through talks in regularization of TIP employees case
ISLAMABAD (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th March, 2019) Supreme Court (SC) has ordered that Telephone Industry of Pakistan (TIP) , government and employees should work out package through talks in regularization of TIP employees case.A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Justice Gulzar Ahmad took up the case for hearing Thursday.The counsel Shoaib Shaheen told the court during the hearing of the case that TIP stands closed practically.Justice Gulzar Ahmad remarked " the telephones of TIP were very good.The counsel told the court that TIP deficit has surpassed Rs 2 billion.Justice Gulzar Ahmad remarked TIP has also become white elephant for us.He further remarked " we don't know how many white elephants like PIA and Steel Mills are in our arm pit.
In such institutions 100 people are employed against one man job.Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan remarked " when the other employees have been given golden shake hand then why it has not been given to these employees.Counsel for TIP told the court that we will pay basic salaries to the employees equal to their period of service in years.The court while ordering TIP, government and employees for sorting out the package through talks adjourned the hearing of the case for two months.It is pertinent to mention here that TIP employees had resorted to SC after the privatization of TIP.
