TLP Leader Arrested For Forcing Student To Murder Professor In Bahawalpur

Bahawalpur (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 28th March, 2019) A member of a religious party was arrested in connection with the murder of a Bahawalpur professor at the hands of his student.
According to details, a National Assembly candidate of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) was arrested in the murder of Professor Khalid Hameed of Bahawalpur's SE College.
The student who stabbed his teacher allegedly had contact with the TLP candidate for NA-187 Zafar Gillani.
Khateeb Hussain, the student of fifth semester who murdered his professor, had made his last call to Zafar Gillani.
The police have arrested Zafar Gillani and sought his 15-day physical remand from Anti Terrorism Court.
Sources said that the TLP leader had forced the student to murder his professor. He had allegedly imposed a Fatwa on the professor and allowed Khateeb to kill him.
Five other persons have also been arrested from Kahror Pakka, Rahim Yar Khan, DG Khan and other cities to investigate the murder.
The organized crime cell is investigating the murder. Police sources said that the persons under investigation have been traced through social media.
Professor Khalid Hameed was stabbed to death on March 20 by his student for organizing a party and encouraging female students to participate. Police had arrested the murderer red-handed.
Khalid Hameed, a professor of the English department, was stabbed to death by one of his students in Bahawalpur's SE College on March 20.
The professor was killed for supporting the funfair party in the college which as per the killer’s views was against the Islamic teachings.
Khateeb Hussain, a student of the fifth semester in the English department was identified as the attacker. He surrendered himself to the police after killing the professor. An FIR was been lodged against him under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
