Tough Competition Expected Between MMA And PTI On NA-37 Tank

:The constituency District Tank, NA-37 would witness close contest as renowned political figures such as PTI candidate former provincial minister Habibullah Khan Kundi, MMA candidate Maulana Asad Mehmood, ex-MNA Dawar Kundi and Ghulam Badshah Bettani are facing each other.

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Jul, 2018 ) :The constituency District Tank, NA-37 would witness close contest as renowned political figures such as PTI candidate former provincial minister Habibullah Khan Kundi, MMA candidate Maulana Asad Mehmood, ex-MNA Dawar Kundi and Ghulam Badshah Bettani are facing each other.

Election Commission of Pakistan officials said that District Tank consist of 16 union councils having population of about 3,93000 and registered vote 1,80872 among which 1,30,498 male and 77374 female voters registered.

164 polling stations have been constituted among which 59 are for both male and female voters while 55 male polling stations and 50 female polling stations have been set up.

Maulana Asad Mehmood who is the son of JUIF chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman told APP that his election campaign is in full swing and the people of district Tank would support MMA candidate as he is well aware of issues being faced by the people of area.

He said that after elections he will make efforts to resolve these issues. He said that district Tank is the center of JUI-F and people have always supported JUI-F in elections.

According to political experts, ex Minister Habibullah Khan and Asad Mehmood are considered equally influential candidates and they have their party vote bank in the constituency.

The NA-37 constituency was created in 2018 by bifurcating NA-25 (Dera Ismail Khan-cum-Tank) where Tank district shared its representation with a portion of Dera Ismail Khan district.

The current constituency comprises Tank district while the Dera Ismail Khan areas of the old constituency are now included in NA-38 and NA-39 (Dera Ismail Khan).

It is worth mentioning here that former Deputy Speaker National Assembly and PPP's senior leader Faisal Karim Khan Kundi has withdrawn his nomination paper from NA-37 Tank in a bid tosupport PTI against the Mutahida Majlis Amal (MMA).
